Job Description:

Plans, directs and coordinates the sales and marketing functions of the Avery Diaphragm Pacemaker.

Job Requirements

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for establishing a strong relationship with insurance companies, hospital administrators, surgeons, pulmonologists, neurologists and other clinicians.
• Responsible for all sales and marketing functions within the Avery Biomedical device product segment, particularly the strategic vision.
• Conduct market research to better understand surgeon/customer preferences and medical technology needs.
• Develop and update market and sales material as required.
• Direct the activities of one or more subordinate sales personnel.
• Coach and develop marketing personnel.
• Develop methods and strategies to unlock new device potential.
• Explore potentials to leverage Payor issues in the marketplace.
• Assist with executing In-service programs with surgeons, pulmonologists and other clinicians.
• Attend and help organize relevant scientific and technical meetings and conferences.
• Conduct industry bench-marking to understand materials, strategies, and failures of other companies with similar market development challenges.
• Refine, develop and execute medical education strategies.


Minimum of 5 years’ experience in medical device business. Prior experience in market development, field/clinical experience or marketing.

• B.A. or B.S. in business with an emphasis in marketing or related discipline.
• Must have a good understanding of medical sales approval process.
• Must be able to communicate with large groups of people.
• The ideal candidate will have experience managing teams.
• Must be willing to travel.
• Must be able to generate and forecast inquiries.
• Must be able to observe and correct minute inconsistencies (e.g. the printed word, product appearance, etc.).
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated effective managerial skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
